This Corrective and Preventative Maintenance Warranty covers OEM parts, base level software updates, labor provided by our Field Service Technicians or Biomed Training*.
*Some repairs or service may require software limited to Medtronic Field Service Technicians. System repairs resulted from accidental abuse, improper operations, abnormal usage or improper maintenance of the system by the Customer or others are not covered.
New PB980s will include all available software options. Free software updates & upgrades are included over the lifetime of the ventilator.

Optimal ventilator performance and reliability is dependent on adherence to routine preventative maintenance, calibration schedules and operating software maintenance. Corrective and preventative maintenance should only be completed with OEM replacement parts and by manufacturer trained experts. Ventilators maintained outside of these recommendations may not be as stable, reliable or accurate as intended, and may incur additional costs related to maintenance, training, parts and services, etc.
In addition, hospitals may have ventilators lacking newer features despite owning current generation devices, or mixed fleets in which even the same model of ventilator may have different installed options. As such, clinicians are often forced to swap ventilators from one patient to another. This may constrain resources, introduce infection control risks, and be disruptive for the patient.
