Medtronic established the Renal Care Solutions (RCS) business group in late 2015 to focus on solutions for the ever-expanding acute kidney injury (AKI) and end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patient populations.

NEXT-GEN HEMODIALYSIS
RCS is developing a next generation chronic hemodialysis machine technology that is intended to help make dialysis more accessible, while lowering the cost of care by being more efficient and using less water.
ACUTE KIDNEY INJURY TREATMENT
Our solution portfolio is expanding with the addition of technologies to help treat acute kidney injury (AKI) patients.
ADDRESSING COMORBIDITIES
Long term we are also looking into other solutions and services that will help manage comorbidities by leveraging the breadth of Medtronic’s overall portfolio. This is particularly important as the leading causes of kidney disease are hypertension and diabetes ‒ two well established business areas within Medtronic.
